WATCH THE VIDEO HERE Nollywood and African box office Queen Funke Akindele has commended her colleague and friend, Iyabo Ojo, on her new movie. Kemi Filani reported that Iyabo premiered her highly anticipated first Cinema movie, Labake Olododo, on Sunday at Imax Cinemas, Lekki, Lagos. In a video from the premiere making rounds online, Funke was captured commending Iyabo. She praised the actress for the movie’s aesthetics, visuals and all and congratulated her on her new feat. Funke told Iyabo that it was her turn to shine and admonished her to break boundaries. “You look so stupīd. I love the background, visuals, and everything else. It’s beautiful. Congratulations, and I wish you all the best. It’s your time to shine. Go and break it. We will keep pushing.”
In an Instagram post a few days back, Funke gave Iyabo her approval of stamping over. While sharing a trailer of the movie, Funke stated that she was already loving it and expressed how excited she was to watch it. Since their reconciliation in 2022 at Africa Magic Viewers Choice Award season 8, Iyabo and Funke have struck a close relationship. When Funke turned 45 that year, Iyabo had showered love on her. She prayed for more blessings and more wins for her. When Iyabo also turned 45 that same year, Funke celebrated the boss lady with prayers. She had had even stormed her birthday party and the two were seen in viral videos hugging and chatting. In December, the two had attended skitmaker, Kamo State’s wedding. The two, were the center of attention as they served friendship goals. In one of the viral clips that made rounds online, Iyabo was captured standing to greet Funke as she walked into the venue and sat beside her. In another video, the beautiful ladies were captured on the face floor as they showed off their dance skills, chit-chat, and hugged. Last year, Iyabo penned a note to Funke as she marked her 47th birthday in August. She expressed how proud she was of the person Funke had become and all she had achieved, as she noted how through the ups and downs of life, Funke kept winning. Akindele, in an interview, recounted how Ojo and Sikiratu Sindodo helped her up the ladder and fought for her during her early career days. She said her being stereotyped because of her physical appearance, made her break down on one of her movie sets and Iyabo and Sikiratu stood up for her.
