WATCH THE VIDEO HERE President Bola Tinubu has described the removal of subsidy by his administration as a tough decision he had to take. Tinubu disclosed this when a delegation of clerics from the Catholic Bishops Conference of Nigeria visited him at the Presidential Villa, Abuja on Friday. The clerics led by Archbishop Lucius Ugorji highlighted some of the challenges faced in the country. However, addressing the bishops, the president said Nigeria was on the brink of bankruptcy when he assumed office on May 29, 2023. He added that the removal of subsidy was one thing Nigeria and the people had to face. “Yes, removing the fuel subsidy was hard, tough for me, but it’s a hard choice that Nigeria must face. We are not going to bankrupt our country,” President Tinubu said.
