Akor Adams, one of three Nigerian stars on the books of Sevilla, has revealed that Super Eagles attacker Kelechi Iheanacho helped him settle into life at the Ramon Sanchez Pizjuan during the first month after his arrival, Footynaija.com reports.

Adams, who joined the Spanish club from Montpellier during the January 2025 transfer window, walked into a familiar and welcoming environment upon arrival.

At the time, The 24-year-old striker was greeted by two fellow Nigerians, Chidera Ejuke and Iheanacho, both of whom had joined Sevilla on free transfers in the summer of 2024.

While Adams and Ejuke spent the entirety of the 24/25 season with the Seville-based club, Iheanacho was shipped out on loan to EFL Championship side Middlesbrough after failing to tie down regular playing time in the Spanish La Liga.

Recalling the brief period of time he spent with Iheanacho at Sevilla, just before the former Manchester City forward’s departure for Boro, Adams revealed how much of an impact his compatriot had on him in those early days.

“We have vibes, we’re different. You can’t be a Nigerian if you’re not, you can’t fake it,” he told Slum2Stardom.

“Ejuke is a fantastic guy, and Kelechi, we all know, he’s an amazing guy; he carries everyone in the room, trust me.

“In an environment where both of them are there, you want to go to training every morning. He was there for a month, and it was all bliss.”
