‘It Would Be Formidable Challenge For Tinubu To Win Against Jonathan’ – Udenta

President Bola Tinubu

Political strategist and Founding National Secretary of the Alliance for Democracy, Prof. Udenta Udenta, has stated that it would be a formidable challenge for President Bola Tinubu to win against former President, Goodluck Jonathan, in the 2027 election.

Naijaonpoint reports that the statement comes amid speculation that some leaders of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) are wooing Jonathan to contest the 2027 election on its platform.

However, Jonathan has yet to make his intentions about the speculation public.

Speaking on the development, Udenta, during an appearance on Arise Television’s Morning Show on Tuesday, opined that Jonathan’s possible candidacy poses a formidable challenge to Tinubu and the ruling party, as it could significantly alter the dynamics of the 2027 general elections.

He further suggested that President Tinubu’s potential second term in office would be clueless and incompetent.

He said: “A spectre haunts the Nigerian political landscape, particularly pronounced within the dominant power bloc. The rumour that former President Goodluck Jonathan may run for a second term has sent ripples through the ranks of power brokers. It would be a formidable challenge for President Tinubu and his team to win against former President Jonathan, primarily because Tinubu’s potential second term is likely to be a clueless and incompetent term in office.”
