Nigeria legend Daniel Amokachi has urged Victor Osimhen to take the leap and join the Premier League this summer, insisting England’s top flight is where the Napoli striker truly belongs, Footynaija.com reports.

The 26-year-old is currently enjoying a superb spell on loan at Turkish champions Galatasaray, having scored 33 goals and registered eight assists in 38 appearances across all competitions for the Yellow and Reds.

Osimhen’s prolific form has reignited transfer speculation, with several Premier League clubs reportedly preparing bids ahead of the summer window. Juventus are also said to be in the mix, along with multiple Saudi Pro League sides looking to lure the Nigerian star. Galatasaray have also made it a top priority to keep Osimhen in Turkey.

But Amokachi believes England is the right stage for Osimhen’s next chapter.

“It would be nice to see him (Osimhen) play in the best league in the world—the EPL—because any league that Osimhen plays in, he would flourish, no doubt about that,” Amokachi said.

“He has the quality in him; he has the warrior in him. He is a player that any club in the world would love to have.”

Osimhen, who helped fire Napoli to their historic Serie A title win in 2023, is expected to leave the Italian club permanently this summer. His stock remains high across Europe and beyond, and Amokachi’s comments will only add to the pressure on Premier League clubs to act swiftly.

With goalscoring pedigree, physical presence, and a relentless drive, the Nigerian frontman may well be the most sought-after forward in the transfer market once the window opens.
