ITF SUPA Beneficiaries Commence Training in Yobe
The beneficiaries of the Industrial Training Fund’s (ITF) Skill-Up Artisans (SUPA) 2025 programme have officially commenced their training in Yobe State, marking another milestone in the Federal Government’s drive to equip Nigerian youths with practical, job-ready skills.
The training, which is taking place at the Senator Ahmed Ibrahim Lawan Directorate of Skills Development Centre, Gashu’a, is part of a nationwide initiative aimed at promoting self-reliance, reducing unemployment, and boosting productivity through technical and vocational education.
According to programme coordinators, the SUPA 2025 scheme is structured to run for 14 weeks, during which participants will undergo intensive hands-on sessions in various crafts and trades. The curriculum combines both theoretical and practical components to ensure trainees acquire comprehensive knowledge and industry-level proficiency.
Participants who successfully complete the programme and pass their final assessments will receive independent certificates issued by the Industrial Training Fund (ITF), qualifying them as certified artisans capable of starting their own businesses or contributing to the workforce in their respective industries.
Speaking on the progress of the training, officials at the Senator Ahmed Ibrahim Lawan Skills Centre commended the dedication of the participants and expressed confidence that the initiative will significantly improve youth empowerment and skill development across Yobe North.
The ITF SUPA programme, implemented under the supervision of the Federal Ministry of Industry, Trade and Investment, continues to play a vital role in Nigeria’s human capital development agenda. It aligns with the government’s vision to build a skilled and self-sufficient workforce capable of driving economic growth at both the state and national levels.
