Nollywood actress Shaffy Bello has spoken about dating a younger man as she opens up about her personal life.
In a recent interview with the Dear Ife series, she revealed that she gets flattered when men slide into her DMs. She further revealed that she gets advances from older and younger men.
Shaffy admitted that she dated a younger man but wouldn’t try again. According to her, that relationship was for a season, and the season is over. She clarified that nothing was wrong with it, but she is in a different headspace now.
The famous star said she is open to getting married now, although her mindset about marriage differs.
“Men slid into my DM, over 50 and even younger men. It’s flattering, but the thing is, some of them are badly behaved. Some will tell me ‘Hi, dear’.
There is no need for me to date a younger man. I have dated a younger man and don’t want to do it again. What I want now is different. When I dated a younger man, I was having fun. It was for a season, and the season is over, but there is nothing wrong with it.
What I want now is marriage; I don’t mind marriage. But I have a different opinion when it comes to marriage. I think a lot of people are rigid when it comes to marriage”.
In an interview with Chude Jideonwo, Shaffy spoke on her failed marriage, which she claimed she sacrificed for her successful career in Nollywood. She shed light on how she left her husband and kids behind in America over 10 years in search of greener pastures for herself in Nigeria. She said she needed and yearned for more but didn’t know the price that would come with it, which she eventually paid.
In other news, the veteran actress had shared her two cents on the ‘What do women bring to the table?’ controversy. She told ladies to stop questioning men when they ask them what they bring to the table. Shaffy added that women are more attractive to men when they don’t need them. According to her, ladies shouldn’t be too needy, as it makes them less attractive.
