Big Brother Naija’s former housemate, Uriel Oputa, has cried out about Nigeria’s lack of decent men.
In an interview on Outside The Box, Uriel said it is hard to date a Nigerian man, describing them as complicated. She recounted how her marriage desperation almost destroyed her as she met a guy who showed her pepper.
Uriel touched on age shaming, noting how many women in their 30s and 40s feel like they’re expired milk. She also spoke about the number of single women in their late 30s and 40s who are still good-looking despite their age.
Uriel said it’s hard to find a decent man in Nigeria, and it boils down to the culture of always finding something better, which is a lie, as there is nothing better outside.
“Age shaming is such a real thing in Nigeria, and I have been so vocal about it. Because a lot of women in their 30s and their 40s feel like they’re expired milk.
It is hard to date a Nigerian man. I don’t understand why they’re so complicated.
Two years ago, I was desperate to get married, and then I met somebody, and that guy showed me pepper—crocodile pepper.
If you see a woman in Nigeria now, she will be 35. Some of them are even 40, 41, 42. They’re still single, fine girls. It’s hard to find a decent man in Nigeria, and it boils down to the fact that we have a culture of “there’s always something better. There’s nothing better.”
Oputa also revealed that going into BBN’s house, she already knew she wouldn’t win. The former housemate revealed that she is a truth-teller and always says things as they are, which is what many don’t like.
“Going into the Big Brother house in 2017, I always knew I wouldn’t win. I went to the house not to win. Nigerians don’t like real people; they don’t like people who will tell you as it is. We like to pretend in this country.
I am me, and I will always tell it like it is. People don’t like to hear the truth, and I will tell you the truth”.
A few days back, Uriel admonished Nigerians to mind their business, as she stated that certain things are nobody’s business. The reality star went on to list things that are nobody’s business, adding that one doesn’t owe anyone any explanation.
The celebrity chef gave relationship advice to women, noting how she had learnt the hard way when it came to men. She noted how women put in efforts to prove they’re good girlfriends, and yet end up being ditched. She stated that men know from day one if they see a future with you, and house chores don’t change their minds.
Last year, Uriel sent a message to her admirers, admonishing them to take a good look before reaching out to her. She stated that because she doesn’t post luxury items or flaunt extravagant trips, it doesn’t mean she isn’t a buyer or an understanding babe.
In a podcast, Uriel revealed that her celebrity crush was Burnaboy, and she already had things planned in mind that he would do to her. Uriel said that Burna Boy looks rough and that she is attracted to his physique. She added that she wants Burna to choke her, even though during the act, her eyes may bulge out.
