“It’s heartbreaking when negativity overshadows greatness” – Actress Jumoke Odetola fumes as she addresses those saying Hilda Baci’s Jollof Rice wasn’t sweet

It is heartbreaking when negativity overshadows greatness Jumoke Odetola slams those saying Hilda Ba

Nollywood actress Jumoke Odetola has a message for those spreading negativity about Nigerian chef Hilda Baci.

Kemi Filani reported last week that the chef, who made history two years back for her marathon cooking, had shut Eko Hotel, Lagos down as she cooked the biggest pot of Jollof Rice.

Funke Akindele, Enioluwa, Tomike, Pastor Idowu and Ogun State Governor’s wife, Bamidele Abiodun, had supported her.

Following the groundbreaking achievement, while some congratulated her, others complained that the food was not sweet.

Addressing them in an Instagram post, Jumoke expressed how heartbreaking it is when negativity overshadows greatness. She revealed that her timeline hasn’t rested since yesterday as people battered about it.

Jumoke questioned what has changed in our human mindset as she noted how it takes courage to attempt something extraordinary, dream big, and bring that dream into reality.

Jumoke told the haters to place their right hand on their left chest and ask themselves why they are triggered by a woman’s success, trying to make a mark in her field. She prayed that God give them peace and happiness that surpasses human understanding and heals them from past pains.

“The Jollof Rice no sweet.
I have been angry since yesterday, and if I don’t express my thoughts, I won’t be fine.

It is heartbreaking when negativity overshadows greatness.
Since yesterday, my timeline hasn’t rested, posts, and banters everywhere, people saying things like “e no sweet”, cooking na achievement? And I keep asking – what is going on with us? What has changed in our mindset as humans?

It takes real courage to attempt something extraordinary.
It takes courage to dream big.
But bringing that dream into reality takes even more than courage. It demands a whole lot of preparedness mentally, psychologically, emotionally, and financially.

I have just been angry since yesterday

Go somewhere private, where no one can distract you.
Place your right hand on your left chest. That’s where your heart beats.

Now ask yourself, slowly but honestly:

WHY AM I TRIGGERED BY THE SUCCESS OF A WOMAN TRYING TO MAKE A MARK IN HER FIELD?

Sit with that question.
Your answer might just be the doorway to your healing.

May God give us peace and happiness that surpass human understanding, and heal us from past pains that have transcended into bitterness, tox!city, and hatr€d”.

Similarly, Funke Akindele, who had attended the event, had admonished the public to keep celebrating talents and striving for greatness. She expressed how proud she was to be a part of a community that uplifts and inspires young creatives.
