“It’s like he came back, it’s scary” – Davido emotionally opens up on Ifeanyi’a death, speaks on his striking resemblance with his twin son (Video)

Award-winning Afrobeat singer Davido has opened up in an emotional interview about his late son, Ifeanyi Adeleke.

Speaking on Apple Music 1 with Ebro Darden, he revealed how scary it is that his twin son shares a striking resemblance with his late son. According to him, he and Chioma believe Ifeanyi came back through their twin boy.

Opening up on his death, Davido said the loss made him chill, take care of his wife and family and get his head right.

Reflecting on the pain, he stated that to come back for such heartbreak and be blessed with twins is indescribable. He added that it shows God is real.

“Crázy. That type of loss makes you just be like, “I’m out. I’m just going to chill, take care of my wife and, take care of the family and get my head right.” So just to come back from that loss and just be blessed with twins out of the gate, a boy and a girl. That’s crãzy. That’s great.

And the boy looks just like my son who passed. It’s scary. It’s like literally him. We’re like, “Nah, it’s him. He came back” type stuff.

But yes, just to be able to come back from that and just be happy, and then we had the wedding, and then the album went crãzy. It’s like, “Yo,” it’s like, “God is real.”

Recall that Davido and Chioma lost their son, Ifeanyi Adeleke on Monday, October 31, 2022, just a few days after he celebrated his 3rd birthday. It was alleged that the toddler drowned in his father’s swimming pool and was rushed to a popular Lagos hospital where he was pronounced dead on arrival.

Speaking on his son’s death in a touching interview with CNN, Davido broke down in tears as he revealed that grieving the loss of his son had some impact on his album. According to him, he had finished the album before the tragic loss, which made him take a step back. He stated that he and his wife, Chioma Rowland, didn’t deserve that.

Following his son’s demise, he dedicated a song in his album to him and his dead loved ones. During his media rounds for Timeless, Davido revealed that LCND, a song from his album, was dedicated to his lost loved ones.

The couple have since welcomed twins – a boy and girl, the same month their son died.
