Nollywood actress Mo Bimpe is embarking on a new journey, and she is appreciating her husband, Lateef Adedimeji, and Ekiti State Governor for making it possible.
In a lengthy post on her Instagram page, she revealed that she has held so many emotions in her heart. She expressed how overwhelmed she was when she received the call to shoot her forthcoming project, as the story is about her and her home state, Ekiti.
She stated that, from meeting with the Governor to intense research, script conferences, story building, and long nights of planning, location recording, set construction, and months of intense pre-production.
She appreciated the Governor for believing in her, trusting her with the big vision, and for his massive support. She also appreciated her husband for giving her the wings, sharing the vision with her and standing with her every step of the way. Bimpe expressed how blessed she is to be on the journey with him and call him her muse.
“Today, a new journey begins.
I’ve held so many emotions in my heart, not knowing where to start… because this moment is bigger than me.
When we received the call to shoot this project, I was completely overwhelmed, not just because it’s work, but because it is my story – the story of my state, not just because I’m from Ekiti, but because it involves my family. It is the longest war in West African history (the Kiriji War).
I grew up reading about this war. I never imagined that one day, I would stand behind the camera to bring it to life.
My Dad even wrote a book about i; little did I know that the same girl who read those pages would one day be producing this film. God is truly great.

We’ve been on this for 11 months but we have finally arrived at Day 1 of a project that once felt IMPOSSIBLE! The scale, the budget, the requirements, everything looked like a mountain but God keeps proving Himself.
Years ago, I was called to feature in a Kriji war production & I was so excited, but the project never happened till now. I just didn’t hear from the producers anymore. And I was sad. Little did I know God was saving the bigger version for me, not just as an actress, but as a producer. Wow

Kemi Filani reported earlier this year that Lateef and Mo Bimpe had gotten the support of the Ekiti State Government to produce a movie on the Ekiti Parapo War. The film will capture the struggle and triumph of the Ekiti people against oppression.
Speaking on it, Lateef expressed joy at being a significant part of the revolution and thanked the Governor and his cabinet for the meeting, promising to continue telling our stories and promoting our culture.
The film will be produced based on a collaboration between the State Ministry of Arts, Culture and Creative Economy and AL Notions Film Company owned by the Nollywood couple. Oyebode said the project will be fully funded by the private sector and will be led by AL Notions Film Company, the producers of Lisabi: The Uprising.
