WATCH THE VIDEO HERE Nigerian Afrobeat artist Iyanya has reacted after a Twitter user slammed Davido for not returning Tekno’s kind gesture. Taking to the micro-blogging platform, the tweep, identified as Oba, noted how Davido, in an interview, recounted how he didn’t have a hit for a while, and Tekno came through for him, gave him a full recorded song and assured him it was a hit. Years later, Tekno, after going through a lot, especially with his throat surgery, openly reached out to Davido, begging him to feature him on his next album, which he ignored. The tweep stated that one would think a good turn deserves about but not in Davido’s case. “One artist told the world in an interview he didn’t have a hit for a while, and Tekno came through for him, gave him a full recorded song, and assured him it’s a hit. Years later, after going through a lot himself, including throat surgery, Tekno openly reached out to the same artist, tweeting at him that he’d like to be part of his then “forthcoming album.” Not only was he ignored, he didn’t even come any close to the album. One would think one good turn deserves another… but not in the Nigerian music industry. I pray Tekno finds his voice again”. Reacting to the tweet, Iyanya told him not to say what he doesn’t know. “Don’t tweet what you don’t know”. Recall that in an interview in 2022, Davido credited Tekno for transforming his life. He stated that he would forever remain grateful to Tekno for bringing him back and giving him a hit song. Also recall that in 2022, Tekno had openly begged Davido, saying that if Davido fails to feature him in his new album, he should stop talking to him. Reacting to this, media critic, Daniel Regha questioned if Tekno didn’t write the lyrics for him as he did with the hit song ‘IF’. He said that writing songs for Davido limits his growth, and as such, Davido needs to normalize penning his lyrics and writing from the heart because originality is everything, and it matters a lot.
