THE Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board (JAMB) has announced that the 2025 Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination (UTME) mop-up exam will be held on Saturday, June 28.
According to a statement posted on JAMB’s official X (formerly Twitter) handle yesterday, a total of 96,838 candidates are expected to sit for the mop-up exercise across 183 centres nationwide.
The Board explained that the upcoming exam will accommodate 5,096 spill-over candidates —those who could not be scheduled during the main UTME—and candidates who failed biometric verification.
In addition, 91,742 candidates who missed the main and rescheduled UTME for various reasons will be given another opportunity to take the exam. JAMB emphasized that this opportunity applies exclusively to the 2025 examination cycle.
“The examination is scheduled for Saturday, June 28, 2025,” the statement read. “Candidates can begin printing their examination notification slips from Monday, June 23, 2025.”
JAMB said the decision reflects its commitment to ensuring all eligible candidates are fairly accommodated in the admissions process.
This update follows recent controversies around the 2025 UTME, during which the JAMB Registrar publicly apologized for errors that affected some candidates’ results.
