JAMB to release 2025 rescheduled UTME results Wednesday

The Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board (JAMB) has announced that it will release the results of the rescheduled 2025 Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination (UTME) tomorrow, Wednesday.

According to an official invitation, the event is scheduled for 10 a.m. at the Board’s headquarters in Bwari, Abuja.

A total of 379,997 candidates from six states—five from the South East and one from the South West—retook the examination between Friday, May 16, and Sunday, May 18, following technical glitches that affected the initial exam held from Thursday, April 24, 2025.

JAMB had earlier taken full responsibility for the widespread issues that marred the 2025 UTME, attributing the failures to errors by its technical staff.

At a press briefing addressing the controversy, JAMB Registrar, Prof. Ishaq Oloyede, issued an unreserved apology to the affected candidates.

“I understand that there are three powerful expressions which contain one word, two words and three words respectively. They are please, thank you and I am sorry. So, I appeal to the candidates and those affected by the error of our system to accept this explanation as the truth of the matter without embellishment. Please, I apologise and take full responsibility not just in words,” he said.

The affected states, as named by Oloyede, are Lagos (South West) and the South East states of Imo, Anambra, Oyo, Abia, and Ebonyi.

Visibly emotional while admitting fault, Oloyede disclosed that 65 centres in Lagos and 92 centres in the Owerri Zone (covering the five South East states) had to conduct the resit.

He acknowledged the outcry over the UTME results and expressed appreciation for the public’s concern, saying it reflects a collective commitment to the integrity of the examination process.
