Nigerian musician JJC has publicly alleged that several prominent figures in the music industry, including Don Jazzy, D’banj, Ayo, and DJ Abass, conspired against him during the early stages of his career.
JJC explained that he was introduced to Don Jazzy by CAS, while Ayo and Abass were present when they were managing a TV station.
JJC revealed that while Don Jazzy recorded a song with him, D’banj had his own separate deal. He also noted that the industry veterans had ulterior motives that he was unaware of. JJC shared that he learned from Ruggedman that D’banj supposedly said, “I’m not paying them; I’m cheating them.”
In response to these accusations, JJC stated, “Nobody knows you, bro. I take you to shows, buy your clothes and food, and you even live in my house while I take you everywhere. How can I be cheating you when you haven’t made any money?”
This revelation highlights the tensions and perceived hidden agendas within the Nigerian music industry as one of its rising stars speaks out about his early career struggles and feelings of betrayal.
