Sean “Diddy” Combs may still be behind bars, but he faced a minor win after he was granted an expedited appeals schedule that could put him on track for an earlier release.
After being transferred to a low-security federal facility in New Jersey, Diddy’s legal team received word from U.S. Circuit Court Judge Beth Robinson that she had approved a motion from his defense attorney, Alexandra Shapiro, to fast-track the appeal process.
According to the ruling, Diddy’s opening brief is due by December 23, 2025, followed by the government’s response in February 2026 and oral arguments expected as early as April of that year.
His current release date is set for May 8, 2028. If he wins his appeal, he could be a free man much sooner.
Diddy, who turns 56 this month, is serving time after a New York jury found him guilty on two counts of transporting individuals for prostitution.
He was acquitted on more serious sex trafficking and racketeering charges that could have resulted in a life sentence. Alongside his prison term, he faces a $500,000 fine and five years of supervised release upon his release.
