A$AP Relli could be facing another legal loss after the judge overseeing his defamation lawsuit against A$AP Rocky urged him to consider dropping his lawsuit.

“I would urge you to contact the other side and see if a deal can be made,” Judge Randolph M. Hammock said. “Maybe in exchange for dismissing the lawsuit, they’ll drop their claim for fees. … Maybe it’s time to cut your losses.”

Relli is no longer being represented by a team of lawyers and plans to represent himself in court.

“I’ve already invested over $500,000. I paid [my prior law firm] Sheppard Mullin, and they left me at the last minute. So now, I’m stuck on my own. I’m just fighting for my rights here,” he told the court.

The judge did not hold back.

“Mr. Ephron, listen to me carefully, okay? This is a very highly technical motion. It has to do with the First Amendment. They have to [show] this is a matter of public interest. They probably will show that. I’m pretty sure they will,” he continued. “I think your case has gotten some press, okay? And I know that Mr. Mayers was recently acquitted. Maybe you can reflect upon this case and what you want to do.”

Relli filed the lawsuit against the Harlem rapper back in August 2022 for assault and battery. The lawsuit was halted to allow the criminal case to move forward, but after Relli lost the case, he then decided to focus on his civil case.

“Gossiping is a form of entertainment for people who have no meaningful goals or purpose in life,” Relli wrote on Instagram Stories shortly after the verdict. “Hate me, bring shame to my name, say bad things about me, I don’t care. Your existence doesn’t add any value to my life.”
