Former Vice President, Atiku Abubakar, has described the administration of President Bola Tinubu as the lowest point in Nigeria’s democratic history.
In his Democracy Day message on Thursday, Atiku stated that Nigerians are not experiencing true governance, but rather a form of domination.
Former President Muhammadu Buhari’s administration in 2018 officially declared June 12 as Nigeria’s Democracy Day to recognise Moshood Abiola, who is widely seen as the rightful winner of the 1993 presidential election.
The 2025 celebration marks 26 uninterrupted years of democratic governance in Nigeria.
