Former Minister of Defence, Mohammed Badaru Abubakar, has denied reports suggesting that he is planning to defect from the All Progressives Congress (APC) to the African Democratic Congress (ADC).

In a statement issued on Tuesday, Badaru described the reports circulating on social media as false, unfounded and driven by political mischief.

The former minister said there was no truth to claims that he was holding consultations aimed at dumping the APC.

According to him, the rumours were speculative and deliberately crafted to mislead the public.

Badaru reaffirmed his commitment to the APC, stressing that he remains a loyal and dedicated member of the party, which he said he helped to establish.

“My allegiance to the party remains absolute and unwavering,” he stated.

He urged members of the APC and the general public to disregard the reports, insisting that he has no intention of defecting to any other political party.

Badaru reiterated his continued support for the APC and its ideals, adding that the misleading reports should not be taken seriously.

Naijaonpoint reports that Badaru recently resigned from the administration of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu. He was replaced as Defence Minister by General Christopher Musa (Rtd).
