A chieftain of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Otukpo, Benue state, Mr Ejeh Udeh, has been shot dead by gunmen at his residence.

According to reports from the north-central state, the attackers stormed his home around midnight on Monday.

Witnesses said the gunmen, who arrived on a motorcycle, lay in wait for him before opening fire as he entered the house.

According to the eyewitnesses, the incident happened in front of the politician’s family.

His body has been taken to the Otukpo general hospital morgue as at the time of this report.

The Benue state police command is yet to confirm the incident as at press time.
