The National Chairman of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), Umar Damagum, Governor Bala Mohammed of Bauchi, and other members of the party’s National Working Committee (NWC) are currently at the Federal High Court in Abuja for a crucial verdict today.
The court is set to deliver judgment in a suit filed by some PDP officials from Abia, Imo, and Bayelsa states seeking to halt the party’s 2025 national convention scheduled to hold in Ibadan.
The plaintiffs are challenging the planned convention, alleging irregularities in the process leading to the exercise.
Officials say the presence of Damagum, Mohammed, and top NWC members underlines the importance of the ruling, which could determine whether the convention proceeds as planned.
Security has been heightened around the court premises as party members and supporters await the decision.
