The All Progressives Congress, APC, governorship aspirant, Prince Dotun Babayemi has clarified his position regarding the ongoing discussions about the party’s ticket for the 2026 election in Osun .
In a statement issued and made available to newsmen on Wednesday, Babayemi said the Osun APC had been in the news recently over issues surrounding the selection of its governorship candidate for the forthcoming election.
He stated that he had visited 299 out of 332 wards in the state, spreading the Renewed Hope message and reaffirming that the party remains supreme in all decisions, including who eventually becomes the candidate in 2026.
Babayemi noted that the party’s leadership at both the national and state levels had been working to resolve internal challenges, under the guidance of President Bola Tinubu, with the aim of achieving a united front ahead of the election.
The Governorship aspirant explained that ongoing engagements were targeted at reaching a workable resolution capable of strengthening the party and positioning it for victory in the 2026 polls.
He restated his commitment to the ideals of the Progressives, adding that he would abide by all party resolutions regarding the governorship election.
Babayemi emphasized that delivering good governance to the people remains more important than individual ambitions within the party.
