The Edo State House of Assembly on Wednesday confirmed four additional commissioner nominees for appointment into the State Executive Council.
The confirmation followed a formal request from Governor Monday Okpebholo, who had written to the House seeking the screening and approval of the nominees for inclusion in his cabinet.
This comes after the Assembly had, on August 20, confirmed Kassim Afegbua alongside seven others as commissioner-designates to serve in various ministries across the state.
At Wednesday’s plenary, the Edo State House of Assembly adopted the report of its Committee on Rules and Business on the screening of five new commissioner-nominees.
The committee reported that four of the nominees appeared before it and were recommended for confirmation, while one failed to show up.
Those confirmed as commissioner-designates are Vincent Osas Uwadia, Etin-osa Ogbeiwi, Saturday Uwuilekhue Idehen, and Charity Amayaenvbo.
