The Federal Capital Territory (FCT) police command has launched a large-scale operation to clamp down on criminal elements across Abuja.
Miller Dantawaye, commissioner of police in the FCT, has directed all tactical and surveillance units under the State Criminal Investigation Department (SCID), the Police Mobile Force (PMF), and the Counter-Terrorism Unit (CTU) to work with the operations department and divisional police formations in a joint cleanup exercise.
The operation, which will run from November 2025 to January 2026, is aimed at raiding criminal hideouts, black spots, and vulnerable communities across the territory.
Dantawaye urged officers to carry out the operation with professionalism and diligence, warning that any form of misconduct or laxity would not be tolerated.
He also called on residents to remain vigilant, cooperate with the police, and report suspicious movements or unknown persons within their communities.
The command shared its emergency contact numbers — 0806 158 1938, 0803 200 3913, and the complaint response unit line 0810 731 4192 — for quick response during the operation.
