Officials of the Lagos State Fire and Rescue Services and the Lagos State Emergency Management Agency (LASEMA) are currently attending to the fire outbreak. Adedeji Olalekan tweeted on X as #Stylomedia on Sunday that the fire also affected the shanties in the market. “Okobaba Street is on fire now, all the shanties are burning,” he tweeted. LASEMA’s spokesperson, Nosa Okunbor, confirmed the incident and said emergency responders were at the scene carrying out a search and rescue operation. “LASEMA Response Team, LRU Fire Unit, Lagos State Fire and Rescue Service are in search and rescue operation at Oko Baba plank market by Ibadan Street, Ebute Metta,” Okunbor said.
