JUST IN: Hisbah issues fresh rules for DJs, women in Bauchi

The Hisbah Command of the Bauchi State Command has issued a fresh directive to women and Disk Jockeys (DJs) in the state.

The commision in a fresh advisory for social events announcing the prohibition of the use of DJs at gatherings.

It also announced the restriction of women in make gatherings across the state.

In a directive dated July 16, the command said there have been complaints about the nuisance and social vices and disturbances caused during weddings, birthdays, and other ceremonies.

Signed by Permanent Commissioner, Aminu Isah, the directive titled, “Guidelines Governing the Conduct of Marriage Ceremonies and Other Festivals in Bauchi State“ listed measures to be adopted during weddings and other ceremonies in the state.

In addition, the directive mandates provisions for gender-based seating and, suspension of activities during prayer times.

It also cautioned residents against failure to adhere to traditional dress codes while prohibiting abusive or blasphemous language, cultural practices such as Sharo, Shadi, Garaya, and Kauyawa Day, as well as DJ entertainment, Gala, and Aloba.

The command also banned activities like pornography, gambling, any form of birthday celebrations deemed immoral and prostitution.

“All recreational centres, clubs, and cultural groups must comply with these directives or face sanctions,” Hisbah warned.
