JUST IN: House of Reps member dumps PDP for APC, gives reason

A member of the House of Representatives, Esset Mark Udo has dumped his party, the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) for the All Progressives Congress (APC).

The lawmaker officially announced his resignation from the PDP on the floor of the plenary on Tuesday, July 22, 2025.

Udo who represents Uyo/Uruan/Nsit Atai/Asutan/Ibesikpo federal constituency, Akwa Ibom State also serves as the chairman of the House Committee on Interparliamentary Relations.

In a letter addressed to the leadership of the Green Chamber, Udo said, “I write to formally notify you of my resignation from the Peoples Democratic Party to join the All Progressives Congress (APC).

“As a representative of Uyo/Uruan/Nsit Atai/Asutan/Ibesikpo federal constituency of Akwa Ibom State, I have already tendered my resignation letter to my former party, PDP.

“I have joined the APC both at my ward level, the Local Government Level and the state level.

“This was after due consultations with my constituents, this position is due to the irreconcilable crisis rocking the party, PDP at the national level.”
