WATCH THE VIDEO HERE Hope Uzodimma, the governor of Imo State has relieved Cyprian Akaolisa of his position as the Attorney General of the state and commissioner for justice. Akaolisa’s immediate removal was approved by the governor on Monday, May 26, 2025. In a statement issued by Declan Emelumba, the commissioner of information and public orientation and strategy, Akaolisa has also been directed by the governor to hand over all the necessary documents in his possession. He was also mandated to hand over all property of the government in his possession to the Imo state Solicitor General and Permanent Secretary for the Ministry of Justice. However, Emelumba in the statement failed to disclose the reasons behind the removal of the Minister of Justice by the governor.
