WATCH THE VIDEO HERE The New Nigeria People’s Party (NNPP) has lost one of its members in the House of Representatives, as Yusuf Shittu Galambi, representing Gwaram Federal Constituency of Jigawa State, has officially defected to the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC). Galambi’s defection marks the first departure of an NNPP member from the House to the APC, bringing the total number of opposition lawmakers who have joined the ruling party in the last six months to 11. Explaining his decision, Galambi cited the lingering leadership crisis within the NNPP, which he said has led to legal battles and internal divisions. He stated that his constituents urged him to leave the party due to their dissatisfaction with its leadership. The NNPP has been embroiled in a factional struggle, with founding members who were expelled still laying claim to the party’s leadership, while loyalists of former Kano Governor Rabiu Musa Kwankwaso maintain control.
