Osun State Governor Ademola Adeleke has returned from his vacation in the United States.

The governor, who made the announcement via his social media handle on Thursday, said he was “refreshed and committed” to sustaining the ongoing transformation in the state.

“Today, I returned to Osun State from a short vacation abroad, refreshed and committed to sustaining the transformation of our dear state. I was delighted to be welcomed by leaders and supporters of our party, the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), as well as the good people of Osun at the PDP Secretariat, Osogbo,” Adeleke stated.

The governor highlighted achievements under his administration since 2022, including improvements in healthcare, infrastructure, agriculture, workers’ welfare, and youth empowerment. He also pointed to reforms in taxation, land administration, and mining as efforts to boost investment confidence.

“Osun must never return to the dark past of bad governance. Together, we shall sustain good governance and secure a brighter future for every citizen of Osun. Imole is here to stay,” he added.

Adeleke’s trip had led to criticism from the opposition All Progressives Congress (APC), which demanded clarity on his whereabouts.

In response, his spokesperson, Malam Olawale Rasheed, two weeks ago explained that the governor travelled on a family jet to attend the wedding of his nephew, music star David Adeleke (Davido). Rasheed also noted that Adeleke had not taken an official vacation since assuming office in November 2022.

During his absence, Deputy Governor Prince Kola Adewusi was in charge of state affairs. The statement said Adewusi was in constant communication with the governor.
