Oyo State Governor, Seyi Makinde, has donated a brand-new Sports Utility Vehicle (SUV) to gospel singer and broadcaster, Dr. Yinka Ayefele, following last Friday’s fire outbreak at the Music House complex, Ibadan.
The fire, which swept through sections of the building housing Fresh FM 105.9, destroyed property valued at several million naira.
Presenting the vehicle on behalf of the governor on Tuesday, the Commissioner for Local Government and Chieftaincy Matters, Otunba Ademola Ojo, commended Ayefele for his resilience and his enduring contributions to the state’s media and entertainment sector.
“On behalf of Governor Seyi Makinde and the Oyo State Government, we are here to commiserate with you. You remain a symbol of perseverance and inspiration to millions of Nigerians. This gesture is a token of support to encourage you to keep pushing forward,” Ojo said.
Governor Makinde had earlier paid a sympathy visit to the Fresh FM premises to assess the damage and reassure the management of the government’s support.
Dr. Ayefele is the Chairman of Fresh FM and founder of the Music House.
