JUST IN: President Tinubu Attends 2025 Editors’ Conference [VIDEOS]

President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has arrived at the Banquet Hall of the Presidential Villa, the venue for the All Nigerian Editors Conference (ANEC), where he is expected to open the event officially.

Also in attendance are the Sultan of Sokoto, Sa’ad Abubakar III; Governors Hope Uzodimma of Imo State and Usman Ododo of Kogi State, Chief of Staff to the President Femi Gbajabiamila; Minister of Information and National Orientation Mohammed Idris; and other prominent media leaders.

The conference also includes the presence of the President’s Special Advisers on Information and Strategy, Bayo Onanuga, and on Media and communications, Sunday Dare.

Themed “Democratic Governance and National Cohesion: The Role of Editors,” the conference aims to explore the pivotal role of editors in sustaining democracy.

In his opening remarks, Eze Anaba, President of the Nigerian Guild of Editors, called on President Tinubu to support the media industry to ensure its survival and effectiveness.

He emphasised that a thriving media is essential for the sustenance of democracy.

Anaba further advocated for grants to drive digital transformation in the media sector and the review of restrictive laws that limit media freedom.
