President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has departed Yokohama, Japan, for Brazil as he continues his two-nation foreign trip.

According to a statement issued by his Special Adviser on Information and Strategy, Bayo Onanuga, Tinubu left Japan on Thursday night aboard an ultra-long-haul flight with a scheduled stopover in Los Angeles before heading to Brasília, the Brazilian capital, where his state visit is set to begin on August 24.

The President had earlier arrived in Yokohama on August 18 after leaving Abuja on August 15 with a brief stop in Dubai, United Arab Emirates.

While in Japan, Tinubu attended the opening ceremony and plenary of the ninth Tokyo International Conference for African Development (TICAD9) on August 20. He also held bilateral meetings and rounded off his engagements with an interactive session with Nigerians in the diaspora on Thursday night.
