A federal high court sitting in Abuja has ordered the senate to recall Natasha Akpoti-Uduaghan, the senator representing Kogi Central, from suspension.
Delivering judgment on Friday, Justice Binta Nyako described the six-month suspension handed to Akpoti-Uduaghan by the senate as “excessive”.
The judge further criticised the provision of Chapter 8 of the Senate Standing Rules and Section 14 of the Legislative Houses, Powers & Privileges Act, declaring both as “overreaching”.
