The remaining 130 students and teachers abducted from St. Mary’s Catholic School in Papiri community of Niger state have regained their freedom.
Officials of the Office of the National Security Adviser (NSA) confirmed the development to journalists on Sunday.
The latest release brings the total number of rescued pupils to 230 and ends days of fear and uncertainty for their families.
The pupils and teachers were taken after armed men attacked the boarding school, an incident that triggered nationwide outrage and renewed fears over the safety of schools.
Authorities said the rescue was achieved through sustained security pressure and coordinated actions by relevant agencies.
They however, declined to provide operational details surrounding how the final group was released.
The abduction has reignited calls from stakeholders for stronger protection of educational institutions.
Concerns over insecurity continue to dominate public debate, with many urging more decisive measures to prevent similar attacks.
