JUST IN: Reps Condemn US Bill Accusing Nigerian Officials of Christian Persecution

The House of Representatives has criticised a bill introduced by United States lawmakers seeking to hold Nigerian government officials accountable for allegedly “facilitating the mass murder of Christians.”

The lawmakers maintained that there is no state-sponsored persecution of Christians in Nigeria.

The resolution was passed during Wednesday’s plenary following the adoption of a motion jointly sponsored by Deputy Speaker Benjamin Kalu and 259 other members of the House.
