The senate has confirmed three non-career ambassadorial nominees.
Lateef Kayode Kolawole Are of Ogun, Aminu Muhammad Dalhatu of Jigawa, and Emmanuel Ayodele Oke of Oyo were all confirmed by the senate as non-career ambassadorial nominees.
The confirmation, which took place on Tuesday in Abuja, followed the consideration of the report of the senate committee on foreign affairs.
The committee noted that the nominees possessed the required qualifications, experience, conduct and character to represent Nigeria abroad.
They added that the three nominees also demonstrated an understanding of international diplomacy during their screening.
The trio were the first set of ambassadorial nominees forwarded to the Senate by President Bola Tinubu two weeks ago.
A further 64 nominees, comprising career and non-career ambassadors, are still awaiting confirmation.
