The senators are Adamu Aliero (Kebbi Central), Yahaya Abdullahi (Kebbi North), and Garba Maidoki (Kebbi South). They announced their defection on Tuesday during plenary. Their letters of defection were read on the floor of the red chamber by Deputy Senate President, Barau Jibrin, who presided over the session. The senators cited irreconcilable divisions in the PDP at the state level as the reason for their defection.
