Just In: Tinubu Sends Top Govt Officials To Abidjan To Cheer D’Tigress To Victory In Afro Basket Final (Full List)

President Bola Tinubu has dispatched a delegation of top government officials to Abidjan, the Ivory Coast, to support the quest of the Nigerian female basketball team to win a fifth consecutive AfroBasket title.

According to a State House press release made available to Naijaonpoint on Sunday, the delegation is led by the Chairman of the National Sports Commission (NSC), Shehu Dikko.

President Tinubu, who praised the D’Tigress for demonstrating character and discipline, stated that the delegation was sent to express the nation’s appreciation and support for the ladies.

Recall the D’Tigress, on Saturday, overpowered Senegal to book a slot in the final of the 2025 FIBA Women’s AfroBasket for the fifth consecutive time.

The Nigerian ladies advanced to the final after a keenly contested semi-final game against Senegal, which ended in a 75–68 victory.

Nigeria’s D’Tigress, will now face Mali on Sunday for the ultimate prize in the final of the 2025 Women’s AfroBasket in Abidjan, Cote d’Ivoire.

This follows Mali’s 76-50 victory over South Sudan in the second semi-final clash of the tournament.
