The family of the immediate past Speaker of the Benue State House of Assembly, Hon. Aondona Dajoh, has been thrown into mourning following the sudden death of his elder brother, Elder Gwamile Dajoh.

Naijaonpoint reports that Gwamile’s death follows Aondona Dajoh’s resignation, which paved the way for the election of Hon. Alfred Berger as the new Speaker during an emergency plenary session.

According to Daily Post, Gwamile reportedly collapsed and died on Sunday.

The late Elder Dajoh was said to have been deeply concerned about the political crisis in the House before his sudden passing.

However, information surrounding the incident remains scarce at the time of filing this report.

Meanwhile, Benue State Governor, Hyacinth Alia, recently denied allegations that he is involved in an alleged plot to impeach the Speaker of the Benue State House of Assembly, Hyacinth Dajoh.

Speaking on Friday via a statement by his Chief Press Secretary, Tersooo Kula, the governor stated that he is unaware of any plot to remove the speaker.

He maintained that he holds the legislature in the highest esteem and maintains unwavering respect for the rule of law.

Kula said this commitment was demonstrated only a few days ago when Alia promptly upheld and implemented critical resolutions of the Assembly conveyed to his office.

He said Alia continues to enjoy a cordial and productive working relationship with the Dajoh-led Assembly and remains committed to supporting it in discharging its legislative duties for the overall development of Benue State.
