Vice President Kashim Shettima has arrived at the State House Conference Centre, Abuja, to attend the National Executive Committee (NEC) meeting of the All Progressives Congress (APC).

His arrival comes as the ruling party convenes a crucial NEC session to address key issues, including the endorsement of a new national chairman following the resignation of Abdullahi Ganduje in June.

Ganduje stepped down citing health reasons.

Current Minister of Humanitarian Affairs, Disaster Management and Social Development, Professor Nentawe Yilwatda is expected to be announced as the new chairman of the party.

Thursday’s meeting, originally scheduled to hold at the APC national secretariat, was shifted to the Banquet Hall of the Presidential Villa.

The change in venue and time, now set for 2:00 p.m. was announced on Wednesday.
