Italian Serie A club Juventus are close to reaching an agreement with Canadian striker Jonathan David ahead of a transfer, Soccernet.ng reports.
Juventus are expected to have a busy summer - not at the FIFA Club World Cup where they were knocked out by Real Madrid - but in the transfer market.

They have been linked to multiple players, including Super Eagles stars Ademola Lookman, Wilfred Ndidi, and Victor Osimhen.
They were reportedly interested in Osimhen as a replacement for Dusan Vlahovic, who is expected to leave this summer. However, instead of Osimhen, they are set to sign another striker.
According to Transfer expert Fabrizio Romano, Juventus are close to agreeing on a deal with former Lille man David.
Recall that the 25-year-old striker is a free agent after his deal at Lille expired. Hence, Juventus won’t have to pay a fee for him. They just need to discuss with the player to seal the deal.
David has been one of the best strikers in Europe over the last three seasons. He provided 37 goals and 15 assists in 83 appearances for Les Dogues during his time at the club.
If they can pull off the transfer, it will be a big plus for them, and David could become an important player for them. Meanwhile, that transfer could have a ripple effect on Super Eagles star Victor Osimhen.
Jonathan David to Juventus: How it affects Victor Osimhen

Super Eagles striker Victor Osimhen has been linked with multiple clubs this summer. He is coming off an impressive loan stint with Galatasaray, where he contributed 37 goals and eight assists to help them win the Super Lig and the Super Cup.
Following the completion his loan stint, Osimhen has been linked with many clubs in the Premier League. Juventus are also reportedly interested in acquiring his services.
However, if Juventus eventually sign David, it would make the possibility of signing Osimhen this summer extremely unlikely if not impossible.
With David, they will have a top striker. So, signing another top striker would be a waste of money for the club.

Which club will Victor Osimhen join?
As the weeks drag on, Victor Osimhen’s likely destination continue to get narrowed down. Chelsea have already been ruled out of the equation following the signing of Liam Delap.
If Juventus sign David, that ruled them out too. The other options he will have are Liverpool, Arsenal, Al Hilal, and Galatasaray. But none of these clubs appear to be serious enough to put in a bid at Napoli.
Osimhen might just have to settle for a season with Napoli or go out on another loan stint.
