Prof. Muhammad Sani Bello has stepped down from his role as Commissioner for Information and member of the Kaduna State Executive Council.

His resignation, contained in a letter dated July 29, 2025, was addressed to the Secretary to the State Government.

Bello stated that his decision takes immediate effect.

Although no reason was provided for his resignation, he expressed appreciation for the opportunity to serve.

The letter read: “Reference to letter number GH/KD/S/171 dated 27th July 2023, appointing me as Commissioner and Member of the Kaduna State Executive Council, I wish to notify you of my decision to voluntarily resign with immediate effect. I wish to place on record, my profound gratitude and appreciation for the opportunity afforded me to serve in the capacities I did. Please accept the assurance of my best regards”

Following his exit, Alhaji Ahmed Maiyaki has been named as his successor.

The appointment was announced on Tuesday in a statement issued by the governor’s Chief Press Secretary, Malam Ibraheem Musa.

Until this new role, Maiyaki was the Managing Director of the Kaduna State Media Corporation (KSMC).

In other news, President Bola Tinubu has sympathized with the victims of the recent Yola flood disaster in Adamawa State, as well as the Niger State Boat accident.

The President, in a statement released on Monday by his Special Adviser on Information and Strategy, Bayo Onanuga, conveyed his heartfelt sympathies to the communities and families of those affected.

President Tinubu noted that while flooding is a global phenomenon exacerbated by climate change, citizens should refrain from engaging in activities that further compound the problem.

He also commended the response of government agencies and first responders who assisted in search and recovery efforts.
