At least five people died and 15 others were injured in an explosion at a scrap collection company in Kano State on Saturday morning.
The state’s Commissioner of Police. Ibrahim Bakosri, confirmed the casualty figure to journalists when he visited the scene alongside other senior officers from the command.
He said the police gathered that a truck carried the Improvise Explosive Devices (IIEDs) from Yobe State.
He, however, said the cause of the explosion and ownership of the IEDs have not been ascertained.
According to the CP, the injured persons are receiving treatment at the Aminu Kano Teaching Hospital (AKTH).
“Police and other security agencies are currently investigating the incident, ” the CP added.
