Kano PDP Distances Self From ADC Coalition

PDP Peoples Democratic Party

The Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in Kano State has distanced itself from a faction of its former members who recently announced a coalition under the African Democratic Congress (ADC), declaring that the group does not represent the ideals or interests of the PDP.

Naijaonpoint reports that the State Chairman of the party, Alhaji Yusuf Ado Kibiya, made this known while addressing journalists on Thursday in Kano.

Kibiya, while reacting to the coalition move, stressed that the Kano PDP remains intact and loyal to the national leadership of the party.

“We categorically distance the Kano State chapter from the breakaway members who have formed a coalition under the African Democratic Congress. This coalition does not represent the interests of the PDP, and we urge our members to remain focused on our party’s objectives,” he stated.

The PDP chairman described the party in Kano as united, focused, and committed to delivering on its mandate.

He said members should disregard distractions from defectors and continue to work for the success of the party.

“Our strength lies in our unity, and we will continue to work together to achieve our common goals,” Kibiya said, assuring that the PDP remains a strong and viable political platform in the state.

Reaffirming the party’s loyalty, Kibiya said the state executive is fully aligned with the national body and will continue to conduct its affairs in accordance with directives from the party’s top hierarchy.

“We assure the national leadership of our absolute loyalty in all matters concerning the conduct of party business. Our commitment to the party remains unwavering,” he said.

PDP Still the Best Option for Kano, Nigeria – Kibiya

Calling on citizens and party members to register with the PDP, the chairman described the party as the best platform for delivering effective governance and national development.

“We believe that our party is the vehicle for positive change, and we encourage all citizens to join us in this journey,” he said.

He added, “As a united front, the Kano State PDP is committed to the principles of democracy, discipline, and development. We call on all members to continue supporting the party’s leadership and to work diligently towards our shared goals for a brighter future for Kano State and Nigeria.”

Naijaonpoint reports that Kibiya’s statement comes amid rising political realignments ahead of the 2027 general elections.
