Kanye West once suggested to Kim Kardashian that she had faked her harrowing 2016 Paris robbery, according to a new episode of The Kardashians.
For Kim, who has spoken openly about the terrifying night she was held at gunpoint while masked intruders stole millions of dollars in jewelry, the accusation was more than hurtful.
Kim has long described the robbery as, in her words, “seven or eight minutes of torture.”
Speaking to David Letterman in 2020, she recalled being tied with zip ties, duct tape, and handcuffs, then thrown into a bathtub as the men ransacked her hotel room. Her engagement ring was among the items taken.
In the latest episode of her Hulu series, Kim revealed that Kanye echoed those accusations at one point during their marriage.
“My ex-husband had said, ‘And you faked your robbery for a TV show,’ and had said that in front of all these people,” she said. “That was a knife to my heart.”

She continued, “Just to think that someone wouldn’t believe you, that’s so close to you, that should know you, that should know how much that affected your life, it just really bothered me,” she explained through tears. “You don’t know who I am.”
At the time of the robbery, Kanye was on tour in the United States and abruptly stopped a New York City performance when he learned of what was described onstage as a family emergency. The couple, who married in 2014, went on to divorce in early 2021.
In May, she testified for 6 hours in a Paris courtroom and received justice, finally.
“To finally go to trial and face these people and hear their accounts and apologies, I’m like, ‘See, guys, it was real,’” she said in her confessional. “I’m happy it’s over.”
