Real Housewives of Potomac’s Karen Huger RELEASED From Prison … Bravo Cameras Rolling!

The Grande Dame of Potomac is back on the streets — and of course, the cameras were there to catch every second of it. Media Take Out confirmed that Karen Huger, star of The Real Housewives of Potomac, was officially released from prison this morning after serving just a few months behind bars.

Early Release

Karen, 62, was originally sentenced back in February to two years, with one year suspended, plus $2,900 in fines and five years of probation. Her early release comes as a surprise to many fans, who thought the Grande Dame would be behind bars much longer.

But Bravo knows a storyline when they see one. Multiple sources tell Media Take Out that production cameras were front and center as Karen walked out of the correctional facility — ensuring her return will be part of the next RHOPseason.

The Conviction

Karen’s legal troubles stemmed from a 2024 incident near Oaklyn Drive in Potomac, Maryland. Authorities said the Bravo star was driving her white Maserati when she lost control, striking multiple street signs and trees before finally slamming into a pole.

Police bodycam footage later released to the public showed Karen appearing intoxicated, slurring her speech, and cursing at officers. She was later convicted of driving under the influence and several related charges.

While thankfully no other vehicles were involved in the crash, it wasn’t Karen’s first run-in with alcohol-related driving offenses. Records show she had faced three other cases connected to drinking and driving in the past, though none of those resulted in jail time.

Family By Her Side

This morning, Karen walked free — and was greeted by her husband Ray Huger, along with the couple’s two daughters. Witnesses say Ray appeared relieved to have his wife back home, while Karen herself looked emotional but determined to reclaim her title as Potomac’s Grande Dame.

As part of her release terms, Karen is prohibited from driving for one year, a restriction that will likely become a new storyline on RHOP. Insiders say the show is already positioning her comeback as one of the biggest arcs of the upcoming season.

What’s Next For The Grande Dame?

With Bravo cameras documenting her return, one thing is certain: Karen’s release will play out as must-see TV. Whether she can turn this setback into redemption or just more messy drama remains to be seen — but either way, Karen Huger’s comeback is already underway.
