WATCH THE VIDEO HERE THE Katsina State Independent Electoral Commission (KTSIEC), today announced that the All Progressives Congress (APC) emerged victorious in the Local Government (LG) and Councilorship elections held across all 34 local government areas of the state yesterday. The election featured five political parties: Accord (A), African Action Congress (AAC), African Development Congress (ADC), All Progressives Congress (APC), and Booth Party (BP). While announcing the results, KTSIEC Chairman Lawal Faskari explained that the final tally could not be completed on the election day due to delays in result submissions from some local governments. Once all results were received, the Commission was able to finalize the coalition and announce the overall results today. Faskari confirmed that the APC won both the chairmanship and councillorship elections in all 34 Local Government Areas by significant margins. He lauded the commitment of the ad-hoc staff who conducted the elections efficiently and within the designated timeframe, commending the Commission’s members and management for their dedication and professionalism. Additionally, he expressed gratitude to the chairpersons of various political parties and election observers for their crucial support during the electoral process.
