THE Governor of Katsina State, Dikko Radda, has established a committee to investigate the recent fire outbreak at the Government House, also known as the Muhammadu Buhari House.

Following the fire, which damaged a section of the complex, firefighters from both federal and state services swiftly responded to prevent the blaze from spreading to other parts of the building.

This was revealed in a statement today Abdullahi Aliyu Yar’adua, the Director of Press to the Secretary to the State Government.

According to the statement, the fire affected the mini chamber adjacent to the Governor’s office, but firefighters managed to contain it before it spread further.

“The committee will identify any lapses that may have led to the incident, recommend measures to prevent future occurrences, and offer any other relevant suggestions,” the statement said.

The committee has been tasked with co-opting any individuals who might assist in its work and is expected to submit its report within a week.

The panel includes the Head of Civil Service of the State, Commissioners for Works, Housing and Transport, Budget and Planning, Justice, Internal Security and Home Affairs, and Information and Culture.

Other members include the Permanent Secretary I, Government House, and the State Commander of the Federal Fire Service, with the Governor’s Office providing the committee’s secretary.

The governor has expressed confidence in the committee’s ability to conduct a thorough investigation and provide recommendations to prevent similar incidents in the future.
