THE Governor of Kebbi State has approved the redeployment of two members of the State Executive Council in a minor cabinet reshuffle.
The move is part of the Governor’s ongoing efforts to enhance the efficiency and effectiveness of the civil service in the state.
In a statement issued by Yakubu Tafida, the Secretary to the State Government, the reshuffle aligns with the Governor’s goal to improve service delivery across Kebbi.
The affected commissioners are Samaila Yakubu Augie, who has been reassigned to the Ministry of Health, which has been vacant for several months following the suspension of Yunusa Ismail for dereliction of duty.
The other, Haliru Aliyu Wasagu, previously Commissioner for Solid Minerals, has now been moved to the Ministry of Internal Security.
The statement further emphasized that the redeployment is immediate and must be adhered to. It also expressed appreciation for the support and contributions of all Executive Council members, acknowledging their role in the administration’s achievements.
The Governor reiterated his commitment to maintaining peace and unity, and improving service delivery to the people of Kebbi State.
Meanwhile in a separate development, a reprisal attack in Tilli community, Bunza Local Government Area, resulted in the deaths of over 10 herders.
The attack followed the killing of a local vigilante member by bandits from Lakurawa.
The incident, which targeted the Fulani community in the area, is believed to have been a case of mistaken identity.
While several individuals were killed, others sustained injuries. The Deputy Governor, Umar Tafida, visited the area to offer condolences to the families of the victims.
